みなさんこんにちは。 2月9日から平昌オリンピックが始まりましたね！たくさんの競技がある中、私が注目していたのは、自分の趣味でもあるスノーボードと最近見るのが好きになったフィギュアスケートです。 スノーボードのスロープスタイルではカナダ人のマックス・パロット選手は銀メダル、マーク・マクモリス選手は銅メダル、ハーフパイプでは日本人の平野歩夢選手が銀メダルを獲得しましたね！まだまだスノーボードが初心者の私にはどれも格好良かったです。 フィギュアスケートでは、日本人の選手ももちろん応援していますが、私の中では特に印象に残ったのはロシア人のエフゲニア・メドベデワ選手でした。彼女の演技がとても綺麗で、とくに見入ってしまいました。 みなさんはどの競技が好きですか？ また2020年には東京オリンピックが行われますね！最近では […]

皆さん、こんにちは。 気付けばもう10月も後半ですね。10月といえばハロウィン！少し前まで日本ではあまり馴染みのないイベントでしたが、最近では秋になるとハロウィンの装飾をよく見掛けるようになりましたね。 私がアメリカに住んでいた頃、ハロウィンが近付くとスーパーで売っているオレンジ色の大きなカボチャを買い、それに顔の形などを書いてナイフで切り抜き、家族でジャック・オ・ランタンを作りました。この他にも、家の周りをお化け屋敷のように飾り付けたり、庭を墓場のようにし、そこにお化けの人形が置いてあったりしました。夜になると不気味な音楽を流し、子供ながらにとても怖かったことを覚えています。ハロウィン当日は大人も子供も仮装をします。もちろん、学校にも仮装をして行き、夕方になると友達と一緒に近所の家を周ってお菓子 […]

こんにちは。 梅雨に入りましたね。皆様お元気でお過ごしですか？ 少し前になりますが、GWに娘の大学時代の優しい友人と娘が誘ってくれて美女と野獣を観てきました。エマワトソンがとても良かったです。歌も上手だったしとてもきれいでした。ハリーポッターシリーズを見て育った同世代の子供を持つ親として、エマワトソンはとてもまぶしく感じました。また、そんなハリー世代の我が娘も今年大学を卒業し、社会人となり親元を離れ独立しました。 私事で恐縮ですが、私も6月30日をもってブリッジスを卒業することになりました。 丸13年、ブリッジスでお世話になりました。生徒の時代を含めますとほぼ14年になります。その間、本当に多くの方とお話しをさせていただき、勉強させていただきました。ブリッジスでの経験はすべて大変貴重なものとなりま […]
